Hi Its a good idea. Following are my two cents: 1. This can be used to spread awareness that scripting can be used for various other areas of implementations such as build systems, system configuration tools etc. 2. Scripting languages such as Ruby and Python can be easily used for building desktop apps by using bindings such as PyGTK and KDE-Ruby. I can come up with beginners tutorials for KDE-Ruby /PyGTK/PyQT. 3. People interested in game programming can start with scripting as these languages provide easier way to get into the basics of game development. Thanks AP
