Thats really commendable and you should continue to pursue your interest. There are folks on this list who are knowledgeable about the kernel and can help. There is only one file that i've closely looked at http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v2.6.29/net/core/skbuff.c Beyond that i've got no clue of Linux kernel code, nor do i intend to pursue it any further :) thanks Saifi.
