I have written and deployed an IRC bot on the Twincling IRC channel at
irc.freenode.net (#twincling channel). I am currently running the bot off my
home computer and internet connection, so there may be times when the bot is
not available (due to a problem on my side). The bot currently has the
following functionality:
- The bot is invoked by the !helper command (There is an exclamation mark
before the word helper).
- Typing !helper in public chat has been disabled to prevent cluttering of
IRC logs.
- To get help, log into the IRC channel and send a private message to the
TwinclingHelper user. The message can be any string.
- Help requests are of the form "!helper <command>". The bot currently
supports the following commands:
1. about - Displays basic information about the Twincling Technology
Foundation
2. projects - Displays links to the Twincling projects page
3. triage - Mailing list and project information about Twincling
Triage
4. dswitch - Mailing list and project information about Twincling
DSwitch
5. scano - Mailing list and project information about Twincling
Scano
Any and all suggestions to improve the bot (in terms of the information
provided and its features) are welcome :-)
