Hi Mukund: At the time of connecting to irc.freenode.net we need to IDENTIFY ourselves as the service only allows registered NICKs.
Thus what we typically do are the following steps 1. start IRC client 2. /CONNECT irc.freenode.net 3. /MSG NickServ IDENTIFY passwd 4. /JOIN #twincling In may clients, we can configure steps 2. and 3. together so that a link/bookmark is available in the application. Next time, we just select the link and both the steps 2. and 3 are completed without user intervention. Hope this helps. thanks Saifi.
