Hi All
Does anyone know of a source for charted musical notes? I am going to play at
adapting a graph for card/tablet weaving - rather like alphabet I imagine - but
it would be really helpful if something has already been done. I am going to
start with 30/2 silk and see how that works, then try 60/2. I saw an
illustration of medieval musical notation and the notes were square, so I might
use that idea rather than trying to 'round' the notes.

Another project that I am in the middle of is weaving the 'straps' for a bridle
and stirrups for an American Girl Doll horse. (I found a pattern in Vogue).
Of course, someday I will spin, and felt the fabric to make the horse, as well
- hopefully in this life time. I'm really excited because in a recent visit to
the Asian American Museum of Art in San Francisco, I saw horse cheek pieces
from Luristan, Persia and they were incredible! So now I want to make fancy
cheekpieces for the bridle - but may have to take a jewelry class to learn lost
wax technique - or maybe use Fimo or sculpey and make fake brass pieces. Always
something new to learn...

Thanks! D Taylor, DVM
