Hi I want to let you know about the current discussion regarding deprecating the twisted.words package. This includes the XMPP and IRC protocols and XML stream parsing.
The GitHub ticket link is here https://github.com/twisted/twisted/issues/11968 My main reason for the deprecation is that twisted.words has no active maintainer, for some time now. Instead of having all protocols into the `twisted/twisted` repo, I think that is best to have separate repos like txxmpp or txirc that can have their own release cycle.
