However, although I can't really tell you what's wrong for sure, I could tell you what /could/ be wrong, because "processEnded" with no "processExited" means something specific: it means that your process closed all its output streams connected to its (Twisted) parent, and thus it has "ended" in terms of being able to produce output events. However, it has not "existed" in that its PID has not been reaped. There are a variety of reasons why this might happen, and it is a valid, if somewhat odd, thing for a process to do.

I hope you figured out something that works!

as an experiment, I tried if the issue is present after system reboot, and it wasn't, so could have been something on the lower levels...
