Screw it, I just made them all dropdowns. However the left-most one is still abutting its neighbor, only in IE7 but not in Firefox. More fun.
And there does seem to be some sort of issue with regular vs dropdown button sizing in IE7. The basic issue is aligning a regular button and one or > two (in my case) dropdown buttons in IE7. They roughly form a button > group at the top of a page, to give a sense of the layout.
