I lost days trying to figure out why the examples didn't render correctly on my pages until I stumbled on to "<!DOCTYPE HTML>" I've not done web programming in a long time, so maybe it's "just me"...but I think you should really consider explaining how important <!DOCTYPE HTML> is for the "new guys".
