So, it looks like the introduction of the badge is messing with the line
height because of the font-size of the badge. I am at a loss to identify
the exact interaction, something is adding one pixel to the height of the
containing link tag, which offsets the margin-bottom -1px setting of the
tab by one pixel, which causes the line to be displayed...
Though I can't tell you exactly what's causing it, I can tell you that
following rule will fix it:
.nav-tabs > li { margin-bottom: -2px; }
So long as that rule has greater specificity than the bootstrap rule, that
should do it for you.
