This is NOT a Twitter Bootstrap issue. Bootstrap is a frontend HTML/CSS/Js pattern library.
To learn about javascript/JSON, I strongly recommend you reading Douglas Crockford's "Javascript: The Good parts". I recently did and I sourly regret I havent' done earlier. Regarding on how to do JSON and Ajax, the current trend is to use AngularJS. There is plenty of videos. But if you do not master the basics it can be hard. Hence my referral to Douglas's books.
