Hi!

On Bootstrap page: http://getbootstrap.com/2.3.2/scaffolding.html

They explain a layout just like the one you pasted in - but the difference
is tucked away in other docs besides the html. Maybe you can declare the
first column with the same naming as them, as below (bolded and underlined
naming):

<div class="row">
      <div class="span3 *bs-docs-sidebar">*
        <ul class="nav nav-list *bs-docs-sidenav">*
          <li><a href="#global"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i> Global
styles</a></li>
          <li><a href="#gridSystem"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i> Grid
system</a></li>
          <li><a href="#fluidGridSystem"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i>
Fluid grid system</a></li>
          <li><a href="#layouts"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i>
Layouts</a></li>
          <li><a href="#responsive"><i class="icon-chevron-right"></i>
Responsive design</a></li>
        </ul>
      </div>
      <div class="span9">

I'm doing this myself...
