I have personally seen no further problems with favoriting since the favorite limit bump.
I have heard one user (@Tony_D) comment about "stars not sticking" in the last few days, but nothing like the many users complaining prior to the favorite limit bump. I believe the limit bump did the job, and that this issue is fixed. Thanks Alex and Twitter crew!
