Thanks for the answers. Currently we can pull trends for all tweets, but I am looking through the APIs to find a way to pull trends for all posts that are a reply to a particular user, or all posts that contain a particular hashtag. This way you can find trends from a particular group of users, as opposed to all of twitter.
