A friend of mine suggested I offer this idea to the Twitter dev community.
The short of it is: I gave a presentation at a barcamp miami and later, after checking my email, I see new followers to my account. I assume that this is because of my presentation, but not always. So when someone follows me, they have the option of adding a hashtag, in which my email about the follow would convey something to the effect of: "someone (someone) **by way of barcampmiami** is now following your updates on twitter."
