Dont follow the person, they can DM you. Dossy already said this. Twitter has built in preventative controls called un follow. The cost of losing a followers is greater the gain of DM'ing them. If someone wants to DM all of their followers, their should be a relative value to the user. I have done it when everyone was getting something specific to them. If they dont like it, they can un-follow me.
