You should be able to use:
http://apiwiki.twitter.com/Twitter-REST-API-Method:-account
verify_credentials<http://apiwiki.twitter.com/Twitter-REST-API-Method:-account%C2%A0verify_credentials>
to
get the user_id/screen_name.
