What is the difference between the Twitter Search API methods trends and trends/current?
According to the Twitter API Wiki they both return the top ten currently trending topics. However, calling both methods (relatively) simultaneously returns different topics. There is a slight overlap but I have never seen them both return the same results. Thanks in advance.
