Interesting. I did some more tests here. I can only get this error with a single asterisk followed by a single word. A single asterisk followed by two or more words is accepted. Also, when I enter a tweet with just a single asterisk and no other characters, I don't get an error, but the tweet is not put into my account. It is just ignored. This set of errors is reproduced when I try it with multiple accounts.
