I experience the same problem "quitting" from some IBM mainframe FTP
servers that my software communicates with. As Francois has recommended
to you, since I'm quitting anyway, I simply ignore the error and treat
the file transfer transaction as having completed successfully.

10053 is WSAECONNABORTED, that is the server closed the connection not
gracefully. Given the fact that it result from the QUIT command, you can
safely ignore that error.
