This may be a non issue.  Originally I had two Vista computers attached with 
a crossover cable and static IP addresses, this is where I saw this problem. 
To be able to bring some XP computers into the mix I switched to a router 
and DHCP.  The problem is not there with this setup, I've tested it every 
which way and it works Ok.  I'll be going back to the static IP's, the two 
Vista computers,  and the crossover to test that again but for now this 
problem seems to be a non problem.
