Happy Hour:

When:  Thursday, July 18
Time:  7:00 PM
Where:  George's Garage, Durham

Join TYJP for our monthly Happy Hour at one of Durham's more interesting establishments, George's Garage (737 Ninth Street).  For the beer lovers, there are plenty of specials on Thursday night.  Come and schmooze, try out the sushi bar, and/or have a nice meal.

For those unfamiliar with George's Garage, here is a short synopsis from http://triangle.citysearch.com:
The Scene
During the day this Ninth Street hot spot hosts a decadently laden buffet that's packed with professionals. At night it morphs into a sushi bar/nouvelle American dining room/wine connoisseur hangout. On the weekend things heat up with live music--a little jazz or some swing--that draws plenty of Durham yuppies and designer-clad Duke co-eds.

The Food
Fresh, appealing ingredients and the trendiest of dishes, George's lunch buffet allows diners massive choices--everything from herb-roasted chicken and garlic mashed potatoes to hummus and dolmades. The dinner menu too offers a wide range of choices, from catfish to couscous. Required eating: Catch this dish if you can: jumbo sea scallops served with a lemon-thyme risotto and jumbo shrimp.
RSVP's are welcome, but not required, to help determine the approximate number of people attending; we would like to reserve a section of the restaurant if enough people attend.  Please send your RSVP's to [EMAIL PROTECTED].

Durham Bulls Giveaway Fundraiser:

When:  Saturday, July 27
Time:  5:30 PM
Where:  Durham Bulls Athletic Park

We need five or six volunteers to help raise money for TYJP, to help defray the cost of running TYJP.  We will be helping the Durham Bulls give away baseball caps to the Fans prior to the game.  Based upon the past few giveaways, volunteers will only be "working" 15-20 minutes.  Also, volunteers will receive complimentary tickets to the game, which begins at 7:00 PM.  If interested, please provide your name, Email address, and phone numbers (day and evening).  The first five or six people who contact Michael Cohen ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) will be given more details.

You may be wondering, why should you volunteer?  Several reasons:
    It's a mitzvah!
TYJP membership was free this year.
    It will be fun!
TYJP needs money to continue to operate.  (Do you really think this Email List-serve and our web page are free?)
    It's a mitzvah!

If you have any questions, please contact Michael Cohen at [EMAIL PROTECTED].

Update:  As of July 10, we still need a one or two volunteers.
