Happy Hour:
When:  Thursday, February 20, 2003
Time:  7:00 PM
Where:  Rum Runners, 208 East Martin Street, Raleigh (919-755-6436)

This month's Happy Hour will be held at Rum Runners near Downtown Raleigh; it has been one of the top TYJP Happy Hours in the past (OK, that was when we went to the one in North Raleigh).  For those who have never been to Rum Runners, here's a blurb from Triangle.CitySearch.com (I couldn't even come close to writing this well):

Take Bahama Breeze, mix it with Hooters and you've got this rowdy little piano bar.

Rum Runners' motif is that of the Caribbean. The cocktail waitresses prance around in tight little black pants and cropped-and-tied Hawaiian print shirts. The bar area is separated from an area directly in front of the stage manned by two loud pianos and two even louder pianists. Get there around 9pm to actually secure a table in front of the stage--which is the only place to be.

Throughout the evening, various people bust a tune on stage. Think karaoke without the cheesy monitor and bad mike. About once an hour, the waitresses climb on top of the pianos and do the Hokey Pokey or some other type of sing-along. The crowd goes wild. By the end of the night, everyone is out of their seats Hand-Jiving the night away. The atmosphere is loud and full of energy. If your idea of fun is letting go, getting rowdy, and singing to tunes you haven't heard in years, this is your kind of place.

If you have any questions, please contact Mike at [EMAIL PROTECTED].
