The Department of Computer Science at the University of Surrey seeks to recruit
an outstanding post-doctoral researcher in the field of formal verification of
security for a full-time position as soon as possible after 16th September 2019.
The post is part of the 18.5 month project “FaCT: Faithful Composition of
Trust”. The main responsibility of the post holder will be to:
1. implement a lightweight Trusted Platform (TP) that relies on the guarantees
provided by a verified microkernel such as sel4 to ensure isolation, and
2. investigate the end-to-end security guarantees that can be provided for
communicating TP systems.
The post holder will be working closely with researchers within the security
group at Surrey and partner universities. The post holder will benefit from the
research environment provided by the Surrey Centre for Cyber Security, an
Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research recognised by the
British Government. The Centre’s research focus is on the design and analysis
of security protocols, data privacy, access control, privacy preserving
security, trustworthy systems, and distributed ledger technologies.
