But ultimately I think any major change like the one being proposed would have to go through the SIGPLAN EC, and would require surveying the PL community in some fashion, so it would make sense for interested parties to get in touch with the SIGPLAN EC members, who are your representatives in governance of SIGPLAN. (Gabriel said that his proposal to survey the community about this issue was declined by the SIGPLAN chair. I don't know about that, but from what I understand from speaking to an EC member, the issue has not yet been discussed among the SIGPLAN EC.) Derek
