We are developing a set of UBOOT / Linux products based on the AMCC 440EP and 405EX PowerPC processors. They have their basis on the AMCC Yosemite and Kilauea development platforms. Are there any user's recommendations of pluses and minuses of the various JTAG development tools? The 440EP will be booting from NOR flash, so it's development is pretty straightforward. The goal in the 405EX design is to boot from NAND flash. This will be more of a challenge. Do any of the JTAG development tools offer JTAG NAND flash programming that can recognize and skip the bad blocks of NAND flash? How are other users programming the soldered down NAND flash for the initial UBOOT development and loading the NAND flash in a production environment? Thank you for any insights.
