Sure, but I'm *explicitly* avoiding relying on DT for this, because there are plenty of things that happen before DT can or should be touched that might warrant serial port output. The kernel has exactly the same kind of feature; log messages can be sent out through an SoC-specific earlyprintk mechanism.
