I realized it was corruption but got confused when I checked the voc entry of DMCONT it looks something like

 

001: F                               

002: ../D_DMCONT

003: ../D_DMCONT

And thought something else was wrong.

 

All fixed now.

Hi Kafsat,

 

That looks a lot like your DMCONT file has become corrupted.  Run guide -na -ns against it and then look at the GUIDE_ERRORS.LIS before running fixfile -f if there are errors.  How did it get like that?  Some sort of hard shutdown?  kill -9 on a process that was updating the file?  even a hardware memory error?

 

Try very hard to stop anyone getting onto the system (at the UNIX level) while you sort this out Kafsat.
