When we install a server for a customer we set it up on our lan called alpha, beta etc. When we take the server to the customer we will either rename the server to something the customer wants OR join the domain as a member server so it can take advantage of the intergrated security/users.
However when we then try to GRANT CONNECT TO user, logged on as the local administrator we get the message "UniVerse/SQL: "<domain>\Administrator" is not an SQL user." where domain is the current servername/domain. If I then LIST UV_USERS it shows ALPHA\administrator Any ideas how to get round this or how do you prevent this happening? I've logged a call with IBM but it sounds like they've not had many issues with this but I'm sure this must be a common problem....
