That is not really true, so I am refreshing your memory; we do have the
suffix you described and we do not use time/date as part of the key.
Because we have the suffix, we should not be prevented from writing the
file, but it is possible we cannot find it again when we try to re-open it.

Very often the CAPTURING clause is not used for anything other than to
suppress screen output of select results and what not. Simply using HUSH
and avoiding CAPTURING altogether takes care of that and saves I/O. I do
agree with you that it is likely a race condition.

That's why I suggested she report a bug!

I do think it's a race condition of some kind.  The tip about HUSH is
