Using AccuTerm, I wrote a script that does this - Uses Eudora - sits on a PC off to the side and just monitors my 'send this' file - used to do pages with it, now it does Email ... You can do this with AccuTerm in a hands off mode (once you log in and start Eudora, anyway!) --- This machine just sits next to the Server (could be ON the server, but it's a D3 Linux box...)
The folks at Accusoft were quite helpful - I literally pulled the code off the web site and tweaked it (there were a few typos!)... Been running for over a year now, with only the external mail server or Nextel going off line as problems... Although as of late with my pursuit between Accuterm & Wintegrate that Accuterm 2k2 has many features Wintegrate has and doesn't have, Wintegrate has many features that Accuterm has and doesn't have. Perhaps it boils down to what's important. I don't use the GUI or clickable stuff so both are just emulators. I do file import/export and have reduced the differences to 2 subroutines that will allow the same program to decide which to use. The WIN.PCRUN or ESC-STX-< accomplish the same stuff. My present challenge is to get Accuterm 2k2 to behave like WIN.MLSEND in sending blind emails unattended from a user's PC. Accuterm can MAILTO: but you have to finish by hand. One of my clients wants to get into Nextel Email Dispatching and that would require sending these blind emails. Thus, anyone have any suggestions besides BLAT (which i won't mind using). If any suggestions are using the email service from the underlying host (W2k in this example), please provide info on how to implement. I'm not that versed in the NT-level of admin. Thanks. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Randall" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, August 13, 2004 10:30 PM Subject: RE: [U2] Wintegrate > With wintegrate you can call PCRUN to invoke a pc program. > > CALL WIN.PCRUN("C:\CALC.EXE","") > > Mike R. > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Barry Brevik > Sent: Friday, August 13, 2004 9:15 PM > To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' > Subject: RE: [U2] Wintegrate > > >Thus, Accuterm recieves the ESC and then the char(2) and < mean that > >the characters following are an executable > > I am familiar with char(27), I just wondered what is supposed to > happen when > it's followed by char(2). > > IAC, it does not appear to work with Wintegrate.
