I've shortened the password to 2 characters. Still getting the "The user name provided is incorrect" message. I don't know if that's just a generic "login failed" message, or it really *does* mean it couldn't find this user to validate it. This is a very frustrating problem as it's obvious that it works for others - just not me. Maybe it's a PAM issue. BTW - Too late.
