Has anyone successfully used an ODBC driver from any vendor to connect from UV on RedHat AS 3.0 or RedHat 9.0 to MS SQL 2000? I'm running UV 10.1.4 on RH AS 3.0. I've attempted using drivers from OpenLink and DataDirect with no success.
I found a way to get the OpenLink drivers to work. Turns out there's an open-source ODBC driver manager called unixODBC built into RedHat with a nice GUI interface. There's also a built-in library file for the express purpose of adding an OpenLink driver DSN through the GUI. I linked /.uvlibs to /usr/lib, set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to /usr/lib, and set ODBCINI to /etc/odbc.ini. I then added a DSN for the SQL Server database through the GUI and pointed it to the OpenLink SQL Server driver in /opt/openlink/lib. Everything works perfectly now.
