Hi Jim ,

that's half of the solution.
this solved the problem for DTS bulk copies which are smart to handle string to
datetime promotions
we also needed this to work via an intermediary process that used DataAdapters
which aren't smart enough to do the string to datetime conversion - so I ended
up doing the conversion myself in the source data set using a couple of dummy
columns.

it actually would be really nice if uv supported datetime field types too.

May not be the most elegant solution to be suggested, but perhaps use an I-type
to oconv your date and time fields and present them as a single YYYY-MM-DD
HH:MM:SS string?

OT - sure will be nice when sql server 2005 FINALLY supports separate date and
time data types. Took 'em long enough to catch up to us <grin>.

pulling data from universe 10 into sql server 2000 using uniOleDb and DTS ,
does anyone know of some way to take seperate DATE and TIME fields in universe
and have SQL Server see them a single DATETIME field ?
