Dear Sir,
On Saturday 25th December at 1.30 PM Two failed hard disks were
successfully replaced with new ones. The array took around 5 minutes for
each for formatting and adjusting disks in array without any performance
issue.
The array is now in optimum condition and the Logical volumes which were
broken on 11 Dec, due to problems in VA7400 array, were re-mirrored
successfully.

Subject: Incident Reporting: N-Class hardware failure

Dear Masood/ Owais,
On our visit to backup site toady with HP engineer Mr. Jackson, One of
the two recovery map disk was found failed (M/D15, RG1) in VA7400. The
HP Engineer has recommended replacing it on priority basis to avoid the
loss of recovery map in case of failure of another recovery map disk.

Plz arrange the Hard disk so we can replace it. We will replace it
tomorrow to take advantage of holiday to avoid any potential rebuilding
of array and hence avoiding any down time.
We will also advise you to order two more hard disks for stand by as the
two hard disk which were sent through DHL from Singapore few days ago
are to be replaced tomorrow. So we will need two more hard disk for
stand by.

Regd
Jawed/Jackson.
