Bob, Take a look at the @WHO, @PATH, @TTY and @ACCOUNT (aka @LOGNAME) system provided variables, as well as SYSTEM(42). These should tell you everything you need to know about who you are, what you are and where you are (at least as far as Universe is concerned).
