Following this discussion about a special time conversion code, I've been wondering... Are many people writing custom conversion subroutines? You know what I mean, the Uname subroutines? It seems to me that with this we have access to create any conversion we can dream up - no matter how wacky - and by creating it as a Uname conversion it becomes just one more tool in the box instead of a one-off solution.
