I assume that TCL level means through a terminal emulator. The problem is
the terminal emulator cannot handle the chines characters. The latest
versions of Wintergrate are capable of handling Chinese characters

Subject: [U2] NLS - To Display Non English Character at TCL level

Dear All,

Is anyone hv experience to display other language character on the
backend tcl level.

With uniobject using VB6 as frontend and NJStar, i able to write a
chinese character to UniVerse as well as view back from frontend interface.
But from UniVerse TCL level (eg LIST FILENAME FIELD.CHINESE.NAME) ,
i failed to view the chinese character. The term.type maps already BIG5.
Is there any configuration that i miss out ?

        >GET.TERM.TYPE
        Wyse Technology 50/60 (wyse50)
        Width : 79
        Depth : 24
        Map : BIG5

        >UNICODE.FILE FILE.NAME

This file's data is already in UNICODE.
        0 records converted.

TIA

Regards
Ang
