Hi Dave I cannot stress that the points I raise are those that are raised by an international consortium of IBM, Microsoft, CA and others to clamp down on piracy. The perception is piracy is the corner market selling bootleg copies of Office, etc. However their focus is on licensing breaches. They see no difference between using 10 copies of word on 1 license of Word or providing 10 users access to a database with 1 user licenses.
What I am trying to do is raise peoples attention to the issue and would strongly advise people not to assume legality of the raised methods but to seek legal advice especially under SOX. There is a requirement for IBM to look at licensing to handle the new requirements and the U2UG will raise the issue with IBM.
