Subject: RE: [U2] [List] Long Subject Lines

Outlook users rejoice! :) I've been maintaining a small set of
Outlook
macros that fix subject mods made by Google, anti-spam programs, and
various e-mail clients. These are available for free here:
http://nebula-rnd.com/freeware/
Please read the README.txt to see what the files are. The file
google_macro1.txt contains code and complete install instructions. The
name will change at some point since this isn't just for Google anymore.

The macros are selectively executed on mail with a toolbar button, there
is
no automatic processing. The code also strips out trailing spaces,
extra
spaces, fixes the recent occurences of:
  COMMIT/R... And COMMIT/RO...
  N ew Zealan d
And even eliminates the "{unclassified}" tag which is required for one
of
our colleagues to participate here.

The only bad thing about this is Outlook users may actually fix a
subject
line (like an original line with embedded double spaces) so that it no
longer properly threads for others who are still looking at the
originals.
Can't please everyone, suggestions welcome.

Feel free to create an extra Outlook folder, copy all of your U2 forum
mail
there, then run a conversion to see how clean it works. If you like it,
run it on your live mail. If you see anything not being fixed, please
check back to the site and then e-mail a nudge after a few days.
Updates
will NOT be announced here!

I hope this is helpful. Much more sophisticated coding can be done with
Outlook to interface to your U2 environment. Inquiries welcome.
