Hi,

Universe 64 bit files created on 9.6 do blow up at the 4gb limit, even if
you subsequently upgrade. Solution appears to be do a resize * * * after
upgrading...

We're on HP UX - may not apply to other platforms.

hth,

4Gb is a magic number for some O.S and filesystem configurations - check
the
operating system configuration.

2Gb is the address limit for 32 bit files - yes - and doubling the address
space increases the limit, but if the infrastructure underneath limit spave
then you are on a hiding to nothing. [ And don't forget ulimit ].

What can I say... I like to push the envelope.

We are going to be upgrading to uv10 in the very near future.

I just heard that 64bit files begin blowing up at around 4g on my release.
What a coincidence, I have a file that is currently at 3.5g. Guess I'd
better push a little harder for that upgrade.
