Barry,

My experience (not necessarily expertise) with UV on Windows is that any
user that logs into UV thru a telnet connection (eg. Direct Connect,
Wintegrate, Accuterm, etc.) must be entered as a Windows User.

You could have only one Windows User (eg "IBM") and have everyone login as
IBM using the Password assigned to IBM in the Windows User entry.

Then, everyone would be logged into the UV account specified as the Local
Path in the Windows User entry file for IBM .

On the other hand, you could have a separate user entered as a Windows User
(eg. JOE, MARY, SAM, etc.) and each Windows User could be directed to
his/her own specific account.

In either case, I believe that the only authentication done by UV is to
allow only Windows Users to log into UV accounts thru telnet connections.

Alternatively, anyone can loginto the UV account using the UV Shell without
any authentication whatsoever.

In both cases, I do not know of any permanent record of further actions eg.
accounts logged to. The stacker retains a short list of recent TCL entries,
but even that is reset after logging off.

hth,

Dave
