Always backup before doing a service pack install!

Once you've gone down the "oh no, what now batman?" road a few times you'll
*never* install *any* software without backing up first.

You may be able to go into start_settings_control panel_Add/Remove Programs
and find the service pack and deinstall it; that is if it is not one of the
upgrades that are non-removable.

I had a complete meltdown in 12/2003 - first the drive broke down, then on a
new drive 2 days later my motherboard fries (Merry Christmas to me, not). I
put a new system together, grabbed my data files from backup, upgraded from
win98 to w2000 loaded all my apps from scratch and all I had left was to
load Norton AV. It crashed and burned and I had to start over. Now when I
put a system together, I do a quick backup after each app install.

Sometimes it really pays to be paranoid!!!!!

hth,

Allen

When "things broke", what was done in order to restore the system to its
previous condition?
