I'm not using uvbackup or suspending writes. We're not a 24x7
operation, so once the workers on the West coast are gone for the day
the UV database is quiet. We've got a total capacity of 800GB on disk,
half of which is dedicated to the UV server. I make master/incremental
backups of the entire UV server every night at 8:00pm, then run another
selective backup of just the UV data after batch processing is done just
after midnight. The D2D UV partition is backed up to a DLT tape
autoloader once a month.
I highly recommend UniTrends. We were so happy with the implementation
we let them do a case study on us:
