Yeah, I think the original question was a tad vague. Like, as a guess, if you had records being written by an application that you lacked source code for, and wanted to be sure that an update occurred ASAP after being written, then the answer is to build your update inside of a trigger that also writes a flag that will let the trigger know that this record has been processed by the trigger, so that the update will only process the record once.
Is that what you were asking for? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Ralph Burton Sent: Wednesday, October 12, 2005 10:49 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [U2] Basic vs Execute Select >From what I understand, you need to make sure new records are processed... then create a second file where the keys are written at the same time the original record is written. Then set up a continous loop to read through the file, removing the keys when they are processed. Use the sleep command to slow down your loop. You could set a flag in a table that the program could read to end the loop... etc. It would be easier if there was more info about the actual application... Thus, how could you insure that all records were processed, even those latecomers.
