2 processes can write to the same COMO, too (and ED it simultaneously from a 3rd). Looks like sometimes the 2nd overwrites what the 1st writes, sometimes they interweave. I dunno, I just avoid it rather than "keep[ing] them dogies rollin'" and "sort[ing] 'em at the end of the ride. (Rawhide)".
