Steven,

How's things in New Plymouth?
Fancy Taranaki having two current All Blacks, must be two more than
anyone expected three months ago!

Why HP-UX? Itanium or PA-RISC?
Not considering Linux or Solaris on AMD Opteron?
Looks to me like HP-UX and the Itanium are pretty much dead ducks

If I were considering a change off Alpha / Tru64, I'd be thinking about
(in rough order)
        Solaris / Opteron (Sun)
Linux / Opteron (HP or IBM)
        AIX / Power (IBM)
or Solaris / SPARC

and Windows / Opteron (HP or IBM) might look interesting, too

Depending on who was offering the best deal and conversion support - I'd
guess a lot of your nifty little shell scripts would need a deal of work
no matter what the new platform was.

Regards

Mike
