I thought I read somewhere that Unidata allowed a user to associate "un-associated" multi-value fields on the fly within a LIST or SORT statement.
However, never having used it - nor being able to find it in any documentation, I'm wondering if I simply dreamed it up. This "on the fly" association would allow you to override the contents of field 7 of a dictionary, much like FMT allows you to override field 5 or CNV allows you to override field 3 of the dictionary. Does this "on-the-fly" association even exist? If not, is there a simple workaround? This would be for Unidata 6.09 on top of HPUX 11.11.
