I have Unidata 7.1 on Windows XP and I had the same server conncetion
problems until I setup the server as follows:

Name: any name (I tied the server name to the windows account I was
logged into)
Host: 'localhost' (without the quotes)
User: Name of the windows account you are logged into
Password: Password of the windows account you are logged into
Verify Password: Same as password above

Once I got the server setup with localhost and windows account and
password I reserved an account using the Demo example and I'm able to
access the directory and hashed files in the Unidata Demo account.
Just a thought since I haven't tried it myself. You may have to setup a
server for each windows account that you would want to use U2Editor from
since the server setup seems to be windows account specific. You would
also need to reserve the account(s) under each server that you want to
access.

Subject: RE: [U2] Free Editor

Is there any documentation for this? Like others, I've been able to
download Eclipse, install it and the U2Editor, but I'm unable to connect
to any of my servers as of yet. So far, I've tried a Windows and a
Linux server, each running current versions of Universe, but I have yet
to see any of my files.

Thanks,

Subject: [U2] Free Editor

For too many years in the U2 Community, we have been laboring with a
single line editor. Whether it was ED or the improved AE we have been
pretty much stuck in the 70's and 80's. Others have produced a lot of
full-screen editors, but they take a telnet license for every session.
We have a solution for those who need to edit from multiple accounts,
machines and databases simultaneously in one editor environment.

U2Editor works on workstations such as Windows, Linux, Hp-UX, AIX,
Solaris, and Mac OS X. U2Editor is built on open source development tool
called Eclipse as a plug-in. By using the Eclipse platform for the open
source community, U2Editor can be updated automatically or manually via
the web using Eclipse Update. Those using U2Editor will always have the
most up-to-date copy of the software.

U2Editor is available today for downloading at www.u2logic.com. Or send
