Ray:  Ahhhh; the ticket.  :-)  SETFILE VOC VOC OVERWRITING.

John:  Of course, I should have thought of that.

Wouldn't one think it appropriate to disallow altering file pointers, unless
explicitly requested via an option of ED or something else?  Oh well, live
and learn and be careful.
